Pharmacist

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Pharmacist at thhe University Hospital of the West Indies.

Under the general direction of the Director - Pharmacy Services the successful candidate will be expected to carry out duties and functions of a Registered Pharmacist according to the Laws and Regulations covering the practice of pharmacy in Jamaica. Viz: The Pharmacy Act 1966, The Food and Drug Act 1964 and the Dangerous Drug Act 1948 and their regulations.

Qualifications and Attributes

• BSc. Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
• Current registration with the Pharmacy Council of Jamaica
• At least one (1) year post-registration experience
• Hospital Pharmacy experience would be an asset or familiarity with Hospital Pharmacy would be an asset
• Must be willing to work in weekends, Public Holidays and on shift
• Possess excellent customer and communication skills
