Biomedical / Caledonia Medical Laboratory Limited invites applications for the position of Phlebotomist

Locations: Kingston, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay

Job Summary

Reporting to the head if the Phlebotomy Department, the incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of duties involved in the collection of blood and other samples from patients for laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate in Phlebotomy
• At least five (5) years experience in Phlebotomy
• At least one (1) year supervisory experience

Core Functions

• Register patients and collects  fees
• Perform blood drawing procedures to include venipuncture
• Collect samples from Patients and Providers
• Make visits to homes and offices
• Maintain inventory of supplies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to effectively work in a team environment with minimum supervision
• Strong analytical, administrative and problem solving skills
• Proficiency in the use of computer application software
• Very good interpersonal and customer service skills
• Flexibility and versatility to operate in a demanding environment
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality
